I attended Alcoa elementary, middle, and graduated from the high school in 1985. I have lived in the Alcoa area most of my life. I graduated from The University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Public Administration, M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a PhD in Education, Policy, and Leadership Studies. I teach 8th grade American History. Additionally, I have several more responsibilities including the following: AMS Jayteens & Junior Jaycees Coordinator; Tornado Club trip organizer (tentative schedule: Orlando (2016), Washington, D.C. (2017), Walt Disney (2018), and New York City (2019); concessions and school store supervisor; help coordinate the book fair; and assist with the PTSA fundraising projects conducted for the school. In the community, I have been involved with the Jaycees of Blount County for the last 30 years and currently serve as the President of the Empty Pantry Fund (501c-3 tax exempt organization) that provides 1400 families a basket of food during Christmas.
